FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What our customers ask most often before and after their first order: lead times, payment, invoices, data, acceptable use.

01

Your server

Provisioning, IP address, size, location and access.

How long until my server is ready?

A few minutes after you order. Billing starts at the first real boot, never before, and a provisioning that fails costs you nothing.

Do I get a dedicated IP address?

Yes, every VPS gets a dedicated IPv4 address, included in the hourly rate, for as long as the machine exists — even when stopped.

Can I resize my VPS?

Not yet from the console. In the meantime, order a new VPS of the size you want, copy your data over, then delete the old one: since billing is hourly, you only pay for both while you migrate. The new server has a different IP address. If you only need more disk space, add an extra 50, 100 or 200 GB disk from the server page, without changing anything else.

Where are the servers?

The location of the compute nodes will be published here, and in the legal notice, as soon as it is settled.

What latency should I expect from Morocco?

It depends on where the node is located, which will be published once it is settled. We will not give a figure before we have measured it from Morocco.

How do I recover my root password?

You cannot: it is encrypted when the server is created, shown once from your console, then erased from our systems. If you have lost it, request a reset from the server page.

Can I send emails from my server?

Port 25 is blocked by default on all servers, to protect the reputation of our addresses. Opening it is something you request and justify; it is not guaranteed.

02

Payment and billing

Prepaid wallet in dirhams, invoices and VAT.

How can I top up my account?

The service is prepaid: you top up your wallet in dirhams before you use anything, from 50 Dhs. Two ways to pay: a Moroccan bank card, on the secure CMI payment page with 3-D Secure, credited as soon as it is confirmed; or a bank transfer, suited to business accounts, credited on receipt.

What happens if my balance runs out?

Your resources are suspended and stop being billed. A VPS is kept for 7 days, with notifications 48 h and then 24 h before the deadline; a GPU instance (once hourly GPU opens) is kept for 72 h, with a formal notice 24 h before. A top-up within the applicable period restarts the resource as it was. After that, it is permanently destroyed.

How much does a VPS created then deleted within a few minutes cost?

One hour: a VPS deleted less than an hour after its first start pays for the full hour, options included. After that, it is billed by the second. A creation that fails costs nothing.

Can I get an invoice with VAT?

Yes. Each month, a Moroccan invoice summarizes your usage; it carries your ICE if you are a company, and every top-up comes with a receipt. Amounts shown are in dirhams incl. VAT, 20% VAT included: 0,42 Dhs incl. VAT per hour, for example, is 0,35 Dhs excl. VAT and 0,07 Dhs of VAT. The VAT portion appears on your statement.

03

Your data

Backups, online storage and what remains your responsibility.

Is my data backed up?

No, no backup is included by default. The content of your disks is your sole responsibility: plan your own backups, or add the daily backup option from the server page.

Can I store files online, outside my server?

Yes, with online storage: a space reachable over SFTP and WebDAV, billed monthly in dirhams, with tiers and prices published on the Online storage page. It is not a backup independent of your servers: keep a copy of any data you cannot afford to lose.

04

Acceptable use

What is prohibited, what is monitored, cut-offs and order limits.

What is prohibited on a VPS?

Spam, attacking or scanning third-party systems, denial of service, phishing, malware, cryptocurrency mining, illegal or pornographic content or unauthorised gambling, and reselling capacity without our written consent. Port 25 is blocked by default. On a dedicated server, complaints from our supplier are forwarded to us: a well-founded complaint can cut off the server's network, and the current month remains due. The full list is in the terms and conditions.

Why was my server cut off?

Because abusive activity came from it: port or network scanning, mass sending of packets to a target, brute-force login attempts against other servers, a connection to a mining pool or repeated sending through port 25. We automatically monitor the metadata of outbound traffic (destinations, ports, volumes), never its content. The cut-off is immediate and without notice, but the IP address and the disk are kept: nothing is deleted automatically. The activity may come from the server having been hacked without its owner's knowledge.

What if I think it is a mistake?

Reply to the email that notified you of the cut-off, or write to support from the console, within 72 hours. Explain what was running on the server and, if it was hacked, what you have fixed. We review your reply and, if it warrants it, lift the cut-off: the server restarts as it was. A new cut-off within the following 90 days leads to the suspension of the account.

Can I use 100% of the CPU continuously?

A spike is not a problem. However, the processor is shared with the other VPS on the same physical server: above 90% for 6 hours in a row, you receive an email. If it lasts more than 24 hours while the physical server is under load, your VPS is throttled to half of its vCPUs, with no change in price, until usage goes back down. Never a cut-off for the processor alone. For permanent intensive computing, a dedicated server is a better fit.

Is mining allowed?

No. Cryptocurrency mining, farming and plotting are prohibited on all our servers, GPU instances included. A connection to a mining pool leads to the server being cut off immediately.

Why can't I create servers anymore?

To prevent bursts of creations, an account can order at most 10 servers per hour and 30 over 24 hours, deleted servers included. The console tells you when the limit is reached: wait a little, or write to us if you need to launch more. Your balance and your hourly spending limit can also block an order; the console then says so before you click.
